This long exposure image is one that I’ve had in my head for a year; I wanted to show the flow of pirates through Brixham during The Brixham Pirate Festival.
Almost everyone from small children to senior citizens are dressed up as pirates. Everywhere you stand it feels like you're on the set of Pirates Of The Caribbean.
The festival gets over thirty thousand visitors each year.
My name is Paul Carruthers - I am called swimstones after a swim I do to splat cove from North Sands in Salcombe.
I collect a small pebble from the beach and swim back and put a number on the pebble I collected just to remember how many times I have made the enjoyable swim of about two miles.
I have a jar full of pebbles on my desk.
I have managed to win a few awards for my adventures with a camera most notably.
