In a town in Southern Italy, a group of women sing in the streets of their city’s historic center. They sing during the Holy Week rites. It is an ancient song that speaks of pain, loss, and strong feelings. They are the last women custodians of this tradition that is slowly fading away. Their intense faces marked by tears are photographed under the rain of a cold winter day in the ancient streets and among the tired architecture.
