I usually prefer to photograph a winter mountain forest in cloudy weather. When the sun is shining, high contrasts are not very interesting for me. However, while walking through a forest freshly covered with snow, I was intrigued by the shadows refracting on the unevenness of the perfectly white powder. They created wonderful abstract compositions. I spent a lot of time finding the perfect one.
