During Taiwan’s rare King Ship ritual, a giant paper vessel is set ablaze—its flames consuming prayers, its smoke rising like offerings. This is not destruction, but transcendence. A farewell that burns through myth, tradition, and faith. The fire speaks not of ending, but of release. In smoke, the boat departs. In belief, it ascends.
