Inspired by John Cage’s exploration of the relationship between chance and intention, oracle cards were used to guide subjects, lighting, and compositions, allowing images to emerge in an unpredictable way. Through self-portraiture and visual experimentation, the picture investigates the boundary between reality and illusion, celebrating improvisation, duality, and the beauty of the unexpected in both life and art.

Anna Parisi (1974) lives between Turin and Cagliari. Her research explores the relationship between matter and the body, investigating change, memory and identity through portraiture and self-portraiture, centred on the relationship between visible and invisible, material and imperceptible. Since 2019 she has worked as a photographer with INFN Turin on a science popularisation theatre project. Since 2022 she has collaborated with Luisa Spagna in dance and ritual performance workshops. In 2023 she was mentored by photographer Simona Ghizzoni.In 2024 she co-founded the collective Nucleo Abitato.
