For this journey to India, I chose Kolkata as my first stop. I had seen so many stunning street photography works from this city and had always wanted to experience it myself.

Recently, I read Third-Class Ticket by Heather Wood, where villagers arrive at Kolkata’s Howrah Station as their first stop. Naturally, I had to see that moment—their first sight of Howrah Bridge.

But as I stood on the bridge, looking down at the Mallick Ghat Flower Market, I hesitated. Should I really step into this chaotic, crowded, and messy place?
