Reaching the stunning vistas of Kalsoy, a remote island in the northeast of the Faroe Islands, starts with a ferry ride and continues with a challenging hike up muddy, slippery tracks. Despite the strain on my ankles, legs, and back, reaching the summit erased all fatigue. The setting sun bathed the green mountain tops, with a solitary lighthouse standing on the crest. My friend balanced on a narrow ridge, emphasizing the contrast between human vulnerability and nature's raw power. With perfect weather, Kalsoy was the highlight of my journey.
