The photo series explores the connection between people and nature. A key source of inspiration is the fragility of the environment facing climate change and people's unsustainable behaviour. Also, I analysed the new forms of connections between humans, and fluidity in the concepts of gender, family, and sustainability.
It's natural for the water of glaciers to become fluid again. It’s natural to build and lose connections. And it's natural for our world to change. But we are responsible now for this rapid change. And would there be a place for us in this newly melted and evaporated world?
Anna Korbut (b. 1989) is a visual artist from Ukraine working with photography and mixed media, currently based in Switzerland. She explores the relationships between humans and nature and deeply engages with Anthropocene issues, starting a dialogue with science at a time of advanced climate change. Anna also delves into the individual's inner world and interpersonal connections. She experiments with digital and analogue techniques, drawing inspiration from mountains' beauty, Augusto Giacometti's and Helen Frankenthaler's vivid colours, Auguste Rodin's sculptures, and Erich Fromm's texts.
