Palm Springs has always been a queer destination and continues to attract the retired LGBTQ+. My portraits document these proud survivors who have weathered many storms, discrimination, homophobia and AIDS. Here in the desert the mature LQBTQ+ community still takes care of their bodies and spirit, is still sexually active while continuing to celebrate their chosen identities in vital, dynamic ways.
