The Bizarre Coexistence of People and Nature
‘If the Creator created humans by recycling already-made creations such as trees, flowers, grass, and stones, what would we look like now?’ This series started with this fantasy. In my artwork, even people are just a part of Mother Nature, like the sun, moon, flowers, clouds, and trees. And they have the flexibility to combine and disintegrate anything freely. In the embrace of Mother Nature, the distinction between humans and nature is meaningless, and there is only a bizarre but harmonious coexistence.
After graduating from university, Hyun-ju Ha worked as a journalist, editor, and planner, creating various content by processing images and text. She has been passionate about photography for over 10 years. Initially self-taught through photo cafes, blogs, and cultural centers, she now continues her studies at Hongik University Graduate School of Industrial Arts, focusing on photography design.
Her unique style involves surreal photo collages, known as Dépaysement, where she reassembles cut-out parts of her photos into new compositions. This meticulous process defines her artistic identity.
