A wedding was held in a village near Phekhon Township, Karenni State in Myanmar, where battles between the Junta Military and resistance forces were taking place every day. Faint sounds of heavy artillery could be heard. The Kayan ethnic group, famously known as Padaung, conducted their wedding ceremony in a traditional Roman Catholic manner.
Karenni State, like other ethnic minority areas in Myanmar, has experienced armed resistance against the Myanmar military for many years. The resistance movements in these regions are driven by the resistance to the military's control.
