Sunday at Balat

Balat is in the old city on the European side of Istanbul. Historically, it was the center of the Jewish community in Istanbul. While much of Istanbul has been gentrified, its population remains linked to Turkey's Ottoman past.
This image shows a family at the door of their house, waiting for someone on a spring Sunday.
