As a studio photographer, I am constantly inspired by the aesthetics of Old Masters paintings, especially what is commonly referred to as the Baroque period.
My work is first and foremost an attempt to translate that aesthetic to the means of expression of digital photography,
while also finding ways to make it relevant and accessible to contemporary audiences
The submited work, inspired by Michelangelo`s Pieta, is an emotional representation of the sorrow and suffering of a mother losing her son.
Claudiu Guraliuc is a full-time portrait photographer and educator, based in Cluj, Romania.
He is a Master Photographer, holding the Associate distinction with The Master Photographers Association in the UK, and the distinction of Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain
