The world covered by pumice

In August 2021, there was an eruption at an underwater volcano in the Ogasawara Islands. Two months later, pumice drifted to the coast of Okinawa, 1400 kilometers away. The coastal waters were covered with a large amount of driftage, causing significant damage to the fishing and marine leisure industries. As of today, there is no more floatage, but a large amount of pumice remains on the shore.

Ever since I first got to know the world of diving as a student, I've been captivated by the charm and mystique of underwater creatures. Currently, I live among the coral reefs in Okinawa as an underwater photographer, studying and capturing the behavioral ecology of marine creatures. Recently, I've been focusing on taking artistic underwater photos by hiring beautiful models.
