Artist Anish Kapoor installed Cloud Gate, better known as the Bean, in Chicago in 2004. Inspired by liquid mercury, it is made out of stainless steel and is one of the largest permanent outdoor art exhibits in the world. Due to its popularity, one needs to arrive before sunrise to capture an image without any people so that's just what I did. This is one way to put Jet lag to good use.

I was both impressed and spatially confused at the same time by seeing the sun peeking over the horizon and then see the sun painting the Chicago skyline while looking in the same direction. Good Morning, Bean.

I create images because it makes me happy.

Photography transports me back to simpler times growing up in the peaceful and happy upstate town of Hamilton, NY. As a young boy, the abundance of wildlife and natural landscapes provided endless fascination.

Reflecting on select memories, I’ve come to see how my deep connection to nature has profoundly shaped my path as a visual artist. Today, I’m driven by a desire to share the breathtaking elegance and understated power of the natural world. For me, photography is more than just capturing images—it’s about honoring the artistry of nature itself.
