My brush with the Grim Reaper

Barry Humphries, AKA Dame Edna Everage, photographed in his home on his 87th birthday. The portrait accompanied an article for The Oldie Magazine. In 'My brush with the Grim Reaper' Barry ponders his own mortality.
We were fresh out of the Covid pandemic, both of us had been vaccinated and marvelled at the events of the past year. I was wearing a mask which made photography incredibly complicated as the view finder would steam up immediately. My solution was to hold my breath, take some close up shots and then step back to breath. Crazy, I know but it worked and made Barry smile.

London based photographer.
