Coachella Valley Anthropogenic:
In the Coachella Valley we live under rock formations and our homes encroach on the desert. Mountains rise up from backyards, businesses and highways. This overwhelming closeness to the landscape generates a real emotional response and inspires this series.
I often combine photos to make the most compelling image and illustrate man’s effect on the environment. Organically influenced by the 1975 exhibition New Topographics, the series holds both the optimism of beauty and the real threat to the landscape.
