This digital photo is an abstract interpretation of San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge. This black and white image focuses mainly on the two art deco towers at both ends of the bridge (seen at the top and bottom center of this image). The many white lines that form geometric designs in the image resulted from the manipulation of the bridge’s many steel suspension cables. And the grey area surrounding the image represents San Francisco’s frequent fog.
My professional background is in university administration. I am an amateur photographer whose interests are primarily in experimental photography. I also enjoy more traditional travel photography focused mainly in the areas of architecture, nature and landscapes. Some of my early photography accompanied the pages of an online literary magazine. I am also the author of two published mystery novels, one for which I designed the cover art.
Awards My recent accomplishments include exhibited photos in several online galleries including: Art Room Gallery, Artist Space Gallery, Contemporary Art Gallery, the Grey Cube Gallery, and the Motif Collective.
In addition, I was a finalist in the Abstract and Experimental Categories at the Siena Creative Photography Awards in May, 2022.
I was awarded a Special Recognition Certificate for Artistic Achievement for my work submitted to the Harmony in Art competition at the Blue Blood Art Gallery in Prague in September, 2022.
In November of 2022, I was named a winner in the Abstract Art Exhibition at the Artist Space Gallery and was awarded a certificate for excellent art achievement.
Also in November of 2022, I received Honorable Mentions at the Budapest International Foto Awards (Bifa) in two categories: Architecture (Industrial) and Fine Art (Special Effects).
In March 2023, I was awarded a certificate for excellent art achievement in Artist Space Gallery's "Blue Art" Exhibition.
In March, 2023 I was named a semi-finalist in the 14th Annual TASTE Photography Awards in the Commercial and Product photography category.
Also in March, 2023 some of my photos were included in the Art Room Gallery's online Abstract Art Exhibition.
In May, 2023 one of my photos (Abandoned Building on the Swiss-Italian Border) was chosen for inclusion in the 7th ONYX International Exhibition of Photography.
