Royal Bromide 1947

I came across in two rare boxes of 12x18 inches Kodak Royal Bromide photographic paper, still wax-sealed and with expiration date printed on label “Jan. 1, 1947”. I use vintage silver gelatin papers as negative on film holders of my large format cameras, making long exposures that produces a positive image, once developed. Even if the Royal emulsion is almost exhausted it still reacts to chemicals and produce a twilight deep sepia tone, giving me a unique print. This paper it’s an invitation to reflect on the relationship between past and present.
