The night that Hurricane Sandy hit Manhattan caused a blackout in October 2012. The only light of the full moon illuminated the street.
I touched this moment I was at the bottom of the sea.

I am a New York–based photographer originally from Nara, Japan. Since 2010, I have pursued photography independently, using the city as a stage to explore the relationship between urban landscapes and natural light.

My work balances stillness and movement, shaped by a Japanese sense of aesthetics and an intuitive response to New York’s energy. In portraiture, I avoid excessive direction, focusing on the moment when a subject naturally blends into their surroundings.

Through light, shadow, and space, I create images that feel both immediate and timeless.
