Casting light on a hidden epidemic

One in 6 veterinarians are said to contemplate suicide. Unfamiliar with the many challenges of the profession, it may be difficult to imagine how veterinarians and related caretakers might succumb to situations of emotional distress and burnout.

Human health, specifically from the mental health standpoint, and animal sentience are literally two sides of the same coin. Much like mental health does not stem from personality weakness or character flaw, animals are not inferior in their capacity to feel and suffer.

French-American, Nathalie Merle is a self-taught photographer with a background in chemistry, pharmacy and healthcare administration. Born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and now based in Lyon, France - Nathalie has worked in both countries cumulating close to 20 years of healthcare experience. Her photographic interests are wide-ranging, but essentially revolve around the human-animal experience and the One Health concept.
