Ness

“Ness” a work in progress is born out of my connection both historical & emotional, my response to these environments captured using slow pinhole allowing time in the land to contemplate stories and shared events with my late father. Ness means promontory, a headland jutting into the sea, exposed often drowned and always at the mercy of the weather. I wanted to highlight these areas around the Thames Estuary and the South East coast, Sheerness, Shellness, Shoeburyness, Foulness, Orford Ness and Dungeness. These landscapes have a brooding familiarity and many connections beyond the personal.
