Tresigallo is a town in the lower Ferrara area with less than five thousand souls. His moment of glory was in the years between 1936 and '39 when, a minister of Mussolini, a native of the country, realized his visionary dream: to build a city from scratch on the basis of rationalist architecture. The fall of fascism also marked the decline of Tresigallo which remains a very original example of architecture and urban planning of that era. It has been called "the metaphysical city" and when you walk through its streets you have the alienating sensation of being in a painting by De Chirico.
I live in Bologna, Italy.
For many years I have been dedicating myself to street photography which, I believe, can help us understand the reality we are experiencing.
For some time I have been moving away from this genre, to orient myself towards reportage, an “elsewhere” that I would like to make sense.
The work "Border Atlas", as well as the other projects in the pipeline, is, in a certain sense, my “premierè fois” (to quote Magnum's beautiful book).
