"The many faces of Marie" poses questions of identity and invites us to consider the limited possibilities of expressing one's true self.
In this series of staged images, Miller explores the inner turmoil her character is going through and attempts to hide from the world, like an invitation to dream bigger than our own preconceived notions of what it means to fit in, to look beyond the boundaries we've set for ourselves and to become our true selves. Elisa invites us to imagine what it might feel like if we were able to express ourselves without fear of judgment or condemnation.
Elisa Miller is an award-winning French photographer based in London, UK. She tells visual stories using a vintage and colorful aesthetic to explore questions of identity, self-perception, and the representation of women. Her work delves into the impact of societal pressure on women and the images that lie beneath the surface, using light and elaborate settings to explore the female psyche through a cinematic lens.
