Not only for its graceful conical form, but for its sacredness, Mt. Fuji has been spiritually rooted in the soul of Japanese people. Therefore, climbing Mt. Fuji remains one of the most sacred traditions in Japan for over a thousand years. Every summer, hundreds of thousands of people attempt at the summit, and many of them aim to worship the rising sun at the highest peak of the country. Ascend, worship, and descend — by documenting this traditional routine of climbing Mt. Fuji, the series portrays people's respect for Mt. Fuji and the divinity of the iconic symbol rising above the clouds.
