This photograph is from Odeceixe beach during a road trip along the coastline of Portugal. I was first amazed by its natural beauty with its steep cliffs and beautiful lagoon. After some time, a family started playing paddle ball by the still water creating lovely reflections. I was astonished by the way this scene seemed to be a perfectly performed choreography.
Amélie Louys is a Danish/French photographer based in France. She worked as a EU-cultural project manager for 10 years in Spain while spending her free time doing travel and documentary photography. In the last years, she developed her vision towards fine art genre. She particularly enjoys photographing the Atlantic beaches in Europe. She uses a minimalist esthetic in the scenes she photographs often integrating silhouettes and using space in a way to transmit the serenity and quietude these places bring to her.
