Honorable Mention / 2021 / Fine Art / Landscape

Einmana

Einmana is icelandic and means solitary. In wintertime all over the island a delicate snowcover lies upon the landscape and separates single objects from the surrounding. And these objects, houses, streets, rocks, trees or even horses stand solitary in this beautiful landscape. I always placed a guiding line from bottom right to the top left of the picture. Of course there is also an exception from the rule. In the middle of the series stands the symmetry of the picture "2 byli" wich means 2 farms. All the pictures were taken on a 10-day-travel around the iceland in March 2020.

I started working as a photographer in the late 80ies. After learning a lot of skills in a photostudio in Graz, I started as a self-empoyed photographer in 1995. Since then I´m mostly working as an architectural-, hotel- and imagephotographer. From the beginning of my career I had a strong relation to fineart- and landscapephotography. After winning a few international awards, I created my own brand "Fotoreiserei" for phototravels and workshops, where I teach interested photographers seeing and creating new visions.
