Elena in a cornfield. In this black and white photo, Elena emerges from these large corn leaves. Through the black and white i wanted to bring out the pure white of her face and her hair.
Elena lives in the countryside and her games are white the nature that surrounds her.

Simona Poncia approches photography after seeing an exhibition in Florence, entitled “Robert Mapplethorpe: perfection in form”. In the exhibition the american artist's photographs were placed side by side in comparison with Michelangelo's “David” and “The four prisons”. This event fed her passion for this art, motivating so her black and white style. Her photographs are timeless.
She is able to highlight the essential and purity of everything, giving sacredness to the portrayed image by means of rarefied atmospheres.

Awards Simona Poncia has exhibited in authoritative contexts such as the Arsenale of Venice as a finalist for the "Arte e Laguna" award, at the MACRO in Rome for the "Adrenalina" award and at the Taccani power plant in Trezzo sull’Adda, on the occasion of Expo 2015.
In 2018 some photos of her were included in the “Murmures” exhibition, at the Museum of the Aurelian Walls in Rome.
From 7 to 12 December 2019, one of her personal exhibitions at Palazzo Velli in Rome as part of the MarteLive cultural review.
The “Nebbie” project was published in Il Fotografo magazine.
She is present as a photographer with her portfolio on "PhotoVogue" on-line channel of "Vogue Italia". In 2014 she was awarded the “Merit of Excellence” award at the Black and White Spider Awards competition and “Honorable Mention” at the International Photographer of the Year, Neutral Density Photography Awards 2019 and Monochrome Awards competitions.
