Seascapes, 2020

Seascapes is a meditation on climate change. Rising sea levels and frequent extreme weather events have lead to increasingly serious flooding worldwide.

These are imagined scenes of a potential future where water flows over the woodlands and flooding becomes a permanent mark on the landscape.

Water flows across dusk-darkened woods and light captured from the surface of the sea now appears in these forest spaces.

Seascapes reflects a sense of deep concern about the urgencies of the climate crisis and yet I have a strong and enduring hope for the future and the changes we must achieve.

Ellie Davies (Born 1976) lives in Dorset and works in the woods and forests of Southern England.  She gained her MA in Photography from London College of Communication in 2008.
She is represented by Crane Kalman Brighton Gallery in the UK, Patricia Armocida Gallery in Milan, Susan Spiritus Gallery in California, A.Galerie in Paris and Brussels and Brucie Collections in Kiev.
Crane Kalman Brighton Gallery showed her work at Photo London Digital from 7th - 18th October 2020.
Davies’ work is on show at 10 Gresham Street in the City of London until the end of January 2021.
