Quantum Landscapes

Quantum Landscapes stemmed from my observations of the Icelandic glacial outwash plains during an aerial shoot. The seemingly random patterns the glacial meltwater formed as it flowed from the glacier to the sea carrying various sediments and volcanic ash is a perfect representation of superposition and probability waves. Each drop of water could take any of the almost infinite paths from glacier to ocean, but it seemed like all paths were taken simultaneously. Unless I was somehow able to tag a specific molecule or drop, there was no way of knowing which path a particular drop followed.

Southern Utah based photographer exploring my emotional connections to the American Southwest and the ice at the ends of the earth. Formally trained in physics, I strive to express the unreal nature of the quantum mechanical world and its resonance with my internal being.
