At the age of 73, my father Leo, an Italian immigrant who has lived in Australia for 50 years had mental breakdown, homeless and in the grip of alcohol dependency.
In the midst of the most traumatic and tumultuous year of his life, Leo managed to find Rosie, an amazingly kind and patiently lady who saw through his inappropriate humour, all of his faults and decided to love him anyway
After a whirlwind romance Leo and Rosie would end up engaged and married.
For Leo this will be his third attempt at marriage.
Leo told me that he hopes that it's a case of third time lucky.
