Noticing the wind carrying a soft powdering of snow across the foreground of this wintery bison scene, I decided to crawl face down through the snow to wait for this bison to make eye contact as we laid on the same level. The contrast of this bison to its surroundings and the look from its drowsy but attentive watchful eyes conveys the exhausting strength of the American Bison and what their winter lives are like in Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley.
