Photographing great grey owls is always a nice treat - especially in Yellowstone National Park when the season starts to transition into winter. I would not say this owl was an especially good hunter on this chilly day, but it did tend to fly low which is great for photography. Luckily I finally chose a good spot to wait for the next flight and was fortunate to get a brief chance to capture those large yellow eyes before it swooped up and over me and onto the next perch to scout for prey.
