Inflections

Snow creates a neutral palette curving over the landscape of the interior of Iceland in the winter. Light breaks through the clouds, placing a spotlight on a slope, a hollow, a valley. The snow not caught in its beam recedes into shadow.

With a change of the wind, pockets of glowing light are swept away as the curves and folds of the landscape are bathed in light. Now it is the few remaining shadows that call to us, whispering about depths and details that were previously hidden. Reflecting on the shadows, the wind picks up again and paints a new landscape in our minds.
