A serie of close up images from eatable seaweeds & shells, that wash up at the shore in Netherland ( SeaLand )... I chose to shoot the algae from very close, with the focus on the textures. By using very direct light on the transparency of the seaweed, beautiful vibrant colours were created. The images are also very limited retouched, they were taken in one shot in the camera.

Some of these algae can be eaten raw straight out of the sea, the taste is very special.
Many gastronomic restaurants from Belgium & Netherland use them in their culinary creations.
