Dame Clare Marx is the Council Chair of the General Medical Council in England. She was a consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon for 24 years working in London before moving to Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust in 1993. She was also Associate Medical Director for appraisal and revalidation in Ipswich from 2013-18.
