The winter sky

  • Photographer
    Tomas Slovinsky, Slovakia (Slovak Republic)

This is the 360 degrees horizontal panorama. On the right side we can see asterism - Big dipper. On the opposite side, we can see a meteor, that burned out in the Earth atmosphere and left beautiful green "tail".
The brighter stars of the European winter night sky - Winter hexagon. It looks like the brightest star we can see is Capella. But it's not true. It's caused by the style of panoramic projection. The brighter star in the night sky is Sirius - behind a tree.
Well, It's a great experience to look up the night sky throughout the year.
