Evenings with the Moon

In Evenings with the Moon, I contemplate the power of universal experiences to unify and transcend, engaging the moon as muse. My impressions of the night are printed on vellum or kozo and gilded with white gold on verso to infuse the artist's hand and suffuse the subjects with the spirituality of the precious metal - echoing the luminosity of their celestial inspiration. This synthesis of form and content expresses our shared longing for harmony amidst the chaos of the world, allowing the viewer to consider the commonalities in our collective consciousness. We all live under the same moon.

Wendi Schneider illuminates impressions of grace with precious metals on translucent papers preserving vanishing beauty in our vulnerable environment. Her process infuses the artist’s hand and suffuses the subjects with luminosity and the spirituality of gold, insuring each print is a unique object of reverence. Her work is held in permanent collections at New Orleans Museum of Art, Memphis Brooks Museum, Center for Creative Photography, and Auburn University Library. She is represented by A Gallery For Fine Photography, Arnika Dawkins, Catherine Couturier, Rick Wester, Vision Gallery.
