I photograph my husband, who is my muse and the object of my desire. He happens to belong to a group that is commonly desired, but almost never exposed: straight white men. Thanks to their historical dominance over the production, acquisition and display of artwork, they have managed to keep their bodies mostly hidden. By turning my camera on my husband, I am developing a new language to express our intimacy, while also investigating what happens when the female gaze focuses on the source of men’s power and their vulnerability – the male body.
