Through my work, I want to demonstrate the hold we have on the environment and to confront our choices, our responsibilities towards the future of our society. To do this, images of concrete textures, which symbolize the progress, are superimposed on those of nature to become one. Concrete sometimes cracked, reminds us that some of our aspirations are doomed to failure. The man imposes himself and pushes more and more the borders cities with aggression. Swamps are among the first affected. This series of photographs is thus a reflection on what could disappear one day.
Denis Samson was born in Quebec City. He published his first photography book in 2008, Québec sous les 400 pas. In 2011, he signed Portraits de Québec, which won the subscribers' prize in the library network. His photographs have been awarded several times at many competitions. His most recent book is Écho du futur available on Blurb.ca
