Super. Girl.

The idea for this shoot came about from memories of days as a
young girl who would watch and read movies and comics about
super hero’s endlessly. For days I refused to take my cape off.

The women in my portraits are both vulnerable and empowered.
These are places in which all women live emotionally every day.
I’ve used viewer proximity as a parallel to this; the viewer is
further away from the subject without a direct gaze when she
appears empowered. The viewer is closer to the subject with a
direct gaze when she appears vulnerable.
