This image was inspired by the horror films by John Carpenter. It
came from a series of shots which aimed to capture the emotion of
terror in a frozen moment in time. These type of portraits work for
the advertising genre and could be used for magazines to
advertise a film, album or fear concept.
I wanted the images produced from the shoot to be dramatic,
atmospheric, dark and with an emphasis on character, and mood.
By using traditional cinematic tools and composition I build an
underlying tone directly aimed at the culture which creates such
traditional imagery that objectifies the labels of femininity.
