The Diolà

Mlomb is a small village of Casamance, the southern and more animist area of Senegal,
where predominate the Diola ethnic group. They have a strong faith in God and the spirits
of nature. They use to spend summer time at the family village to attend the celebration
of the Bukut, the men's secret initiation, when all the boys of the same tribe will
disappear for one month into the forest. The rest of the tribe wait for them, impatiently,
praying and spending time together.
