Candlelight Revolution

In Nov. and Dec., 2016, there was a mass protest calling for the impeachment of the corrupt President in Korea. This demonstration called as ‘Candlelight Revolution’ was held in the evening on Saturdays. Each time, 1-1.5 million people gathered only in Seoul and
1.5-2 million people across the nation. This was a large-scale demonstration. Nevertheless, it was an unprecedented peaceful demonstration. This fact attracted the world’s attention enough to be called as candidate for ‘Nobel Peace Prize’ in 2017. The protest was also like a festival full of hopes and even tourists visited to see the
demonstration.
On Dec. 9, the bill to impeach the president was approved in National Assembly by the power of the candlelights held by a numerous number of people.

I am a Korean photographer and photo critic. I majored in fine art and photography in University, Korea and got a doctor’s degree in Art Plastic. Since then, I have established KONG Media and started planning · making documentary photographs and films. I have presented a lot of documentary photographs and won 30 prizes at the leading international photo contests like IPA and P×3, etc. In addition, I also planned several documentary films.
