Caterina Marchionne was born in Latina and lives in Rome (Italy). Photographer and visual artist, passionate traveler, approaches the world of photography during a long stay in China. She begins as self-taught and then studies photography and visual languages in Rome. Her artistic research is immediately directed to explore the line between reality and abstraction. After experimenting mixed shooting techniques– multiple exposures and intentional camera movement–more recently she has approached coding as a technique of image manipulation, as used in the context of Glitch Photography/Glitch Art.
Awards She has been selected to participate in several group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, among which noteworthy are: “Mixed Media 2014 Project” (Galleria Gallerati Rome), Photissima Art Prize 2015 (Turin), #AVLGLITCH 2016 (The Asheville Darkroom, Asheville-USA), “Project P 2016” (Galleria Gallerati Rome), LACDA Electron Salon 2017 (Los Angeles-USA), Fu:bar Expo 2017 (Zagreb, Croatia), Homeostasis Lab @ The Wrong 2017-Online Digital Art Biennale, C4W 2017 (Gamut Gallery, Minneapolis-USA). She also got a honorable mention at the PX3-Prix de la Photographie Paris in 2015 and 2016.
She won the TOP40 2016 contest organized by LACDA-Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
In 2018 Lydia Palumbo Scalzi Gallery (Latina, Italy) presented her first solo show, RIVISITAZIONI.
