A series about Ingeliese and her husband, Friedhelm, who has been
diagnosed with larynx cancer after about 50 years of smoking. I
photographed Friedhelm for one year now, as he undergoes treatment
and surgery. The story documents how the illness affects his life and his
46-year marriage. This short excerpt shows important stages during the
very intense and uncertain time of 4 months before, during and after
surgery.
