The Laughter Series is a personal project; a collection of portraits
that are not necessarily flattering in the conventional sense i.e.
wrinkle free and perfectly photo shopped, but portraits that
capture a moment of raw emotion. We are constantly bombarded
online and in the press with images of 'beautiful' people that are
unrealistic and frankly boring to look at. To me, a person is at
their happiest and most beautiful when they let go of inhibition for
a moment and give in to laughter.
This is what I want to capture with this series, the essence of
happiness, which is always fleeting, but immortalised with a well
timed click of the camera shutter.
I'm a professional British photographer working internationally from my base in Johannesburg, South Africa. I specialise in capturing portraits of people and animals, my favourite photographic subject is a dog.
I've been working as a professional photographer for over a decade and I love to capture character portraits of my clients.
