Flights of Fancy 8

  • Photographer
    Karen Hanley Colbert, United States

A stroll along the water's edge on a beach at sunrise, one can find many seagulls
searching for their meal. When we walk too close, they take flight and this image captures
that flight with the long shoreline as it fades away in the background.

The photo-journalistic side of Photography graced my awareness for a time in the mid-70s. I was enamored with the process behind the lens and in the darkroom but flew by the seat of my pants with no formal photographic training.

Making a living chased me around the United States until my recent retirement. My career was in accounting, tax preparation and Business Management.

In 2010, I started at the beginning taking basic photography classes and have now put several years of diligent and enjoyable work with equal play under my photographic belt. As I am certain many before me have said that Fine Art Photography now has taken over my life and I have never been happier nor busier.

I love what I am doing and I know that I will be shooting for as long as I can hold a camera.
