American photographer, Minor White, once said “One should not
only photograph things for what they are but for what else they
are”. Swiss artist, Paul Klee said “Art does not reproduce what we
see; rather, it makes us see”. I find them depicting an important
mission of, especially fine art, photographers

“Flow” is a photographic project with the wooden spiral staircase
of the Art Gallery of Ontario as the subject. However, I did not
capture the staircase as a whole. I studied lines, and curves of it
carefully and finished the series with abstract-painting-like
photographs. They are not a pure documentation of the staircase
but a journey where visual movement of audience is directed by
lines and curves

Lawrence Cheung is a fine-art photographer.

He was trained professionally in photography at the Open University of Hong Kong

Lawrence’s works has received recognitions in the international photography circle. His works were accepted in the Singapore International Photography awards in 2014 - 2016 and Trierenberg Super Circuit in 2015-2017

He obtained an Associateship (Visual Art) and Bronze Exhibitor distinctions from The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain in 2013 and the Singapore Photographic Society in 2016, respectively
