The idea of this series of dancers portraits was to show the
contrast between the impressive aesthetic experience of ease that
a spectator gets and the hard-working professionality necessary
for the dancer for producing it.
The posture, in which this danseuse is standing, actually is a
relaxing position for her, during the change of one ballet scene to
another. She is preparing for getting into the spirit of the next
posture. Not one moment she is unconcentrated, always having
extreme control of and tension in her body. Subtly this can be
seen in her hands position.
Nonetheless, for the spectator it exudes the impression of
complete ease in motion, elegance in posture and fragility.
The titel stems from Tchaikovsky "Nutcracker".
